Amazing Month at JP Boxing, Phitsanulok I have just finished a month of training at JP Boxing, and it has been one of the best experiences I’ve had in Thailand. A huge thank you to Jay and Ploy, who make everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrive. They have created a friendly, professional, and supportive environment that makes the gym feel like home. The trainers, especially Song, Kon, and At, are absolutely fantastic. Not only are they highly skilled and dedicated coaches, but they are also incredibly fun to train with. Every session was full of hard work, but also plenty of laughs. We were always joking around and smiling during training, which made even the toughest sessions enjoyable. Their positive energy and sense of humour created an atmosphere that I will really miss. The facilities are excellent, with quality equipment, plenty of training space, and everything you need to improve your Muay Thai. The food was also great, helping us recover and enjoy the full experience of training in Thailand. One of the things that makes JP Boxing so special is the sense of community. Everyone looks after each other, and after a month it genuinely feels like being part of a family rather than just being a customer at a gym. And of course, I can’t forget Money, the gym dog! She became part of everyone’s daily routine and always seemed to join us during stretching sessions. I’ll definitely miss seeing her every day and having her “help” with recovery after training! Thank you to Jay, Ploy, Song - Kon, At, Money, and everyone at JP Boxing for an unforgettable month. I learned a lot, improved my Muay Thai, made great memories, and met amazing people. I hope to come back and train with you all again in the future. 🥊🙏🇹🇭❤️

I stayed 21 days in the JP family and had the best experience. I came without boxing knowledge, to learn about Muay Thai, Thai culture and the physical challenge. I found in that place every single thing that I was looking for. All the staff members are lovely and make you feel comfortable on the first second. The trainers are really professional, patient and get you to real improvements in a such small amount of time. About the recovery, rooms are really good, clean and modern, equiped with AC. You can use sauna and ice bath for free and the food is fabulous. You also got gym equipment and local activities organised throughout the week to keep you busy in your free time. I would definitely recommend a stay within the JP Family and look forward to come back as soon as I can 😁

I've been training at the gym for nearly two years now. There's plenty of equipment including a full size ring which actually gets used for events. There's also a large padded floor used for practices, many punch and kick bags to practice on, many sets of pads for the instructors to use to train you, wraps gloves and shin guards for students to use, some cardio machines, a cable machine/ Smith machine, set of dumbbells from 2kg up to 15kg, some calisthenics equipment. There's a few miscellaneous items for training like a couple of kettle bells and some tyres. There's also a sauna, yoga room, ice bath. For people staying at the camp there's also a staffed kitchen doing authentic Thai food, but with good nutrition aimed at complementing your training. The trainers are lovely, friendly, happy, funny people. They have loads of knowledge and experience but won't be intimidating. The owner Jay speaks great English because he lived in England years ago. He's also got an impressive professional career as a fighter so loads of knowledge about the art. P.S. there's also two dogs now who will come up and lick you while you're stretching. With the owners very little daughter running around too (she's about 4) it's got a lovely family feel.

I have spent the last 3 weeks training and staying at JP Boxing Gym, and honestly this place has become much more than just a gym for me. From the very first day, everyone welcomed me with warmth, kindness, and genuine care that made me feel comfortable immediately. The atmosphere here is amazing peaceful, friendly, motivating, and full of positive energy every single day. The trainers are incredible. Kru Songkom and Kru Art are both highly skilled, patient, and passionate about teaching Muay Thai. They always pay attention to every student individually and truly want everyone to improve, no matter your level. Training with them feels authentic and inspiring, and you can feel how much experience and heart they put into what they do. I also want to thank Jay and Ployy, the owners of the gym, for creating such a beautiful environment and community. They take care of everyone like family and are always willing to help with anything, big or small. Their kindness, hospitality, and attention to detail made my stay here unforgettable. You never feel like “just a customer” here you feel genuinely cared for. The accommodation, training environment, food, and overall experience have all been wonderful. Whether you come here to seriously train, improve your fitness, experience Thai culture, or simply find a healthy and positive environment, this is truly a special place. I’m very grateful for all the memories, the friendships, and the care I received during my stay here. Leaving this place will honestly be difficult because it already feels like home. Thank you so much to Kru Songkom, Kru Art, Jay, and Ployy for everything. I will definitely come back again in the future 🙏🥊❤️

I trained at JP Muay Thai Gym for 2 weeks and honestly wished I could stay longer. From the very first day, everyone welcomed me like family and made me feel comfortable immediately. 🫰🏻 Coach Songkom is patient, experienced, and knows how to push you in the best way possible. Every session was challenging, fun, and helped me improve so much in a short time. Ploy and Jay, the owners, create such an incredible atmosphere around the gym friendly, relaxed, and full of good energy. P was also always smiling, helpful, and made everyone feel included. This gym is more than just a place to train. It’s a place where people support each other, laugh together, and create unforgettable memories. I’m so grateful for my time at JP Muay Thai Gym and I already can’t wait to come back again.

I had a wonderful experience and only regret not having been able to stay longer. I was a little anxious coming in because I was a total beginner but, thanks to the dedication and patience of the teacher, I learnt rapidly and was able to progress day by day. Everyone at the gym was excitedly kind and accommodating which really made me feel at home. If you want to learn Muay Thay, eat great food and meet wonderful people, look no further than JP boxing. I genuinely can’t recommend them enough.

I spent one month training at JP Boxing and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made during my time in Thailand. From the very first day, Jay and Ploy made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. They are both very kind and genuinely care about every person who walks into the gym. The training itself is excellent. Kru Songkom is a very experienced trainer who pays close attention to your technique and helps you improve step by step. Each session is well-structured, challenging, but still enjoyable. I could really feel my progress over the month, both physically and mentally. What really makes JP Boxing special, though, is the atmosphere. Jay and Ploy have created a place that feels more like a family than just a gym. Everyone is friendly, supportive, and positive. It’s a place where you feel motivated every day. I’m very grateful for this experience and will definitely come back again, hopefully for a longer stay next time. Highly recommend JP Boxing to anyone looking for a great Muay Thai gym in Thailand.

My time at JP Boxing was something special. The training pushed me physically and mentally, but that’s exactly what made it so rewarding. The trainers are not only skilled but genuinely care about helping you improve. What I’ll remember the most is the feeling of family. From the first day to the last, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone there. The homemade meals were incredible and just added to the whole experience. Thank you to everyone at JP for making this such an unforgettable stay. The only regret I have is not staying longer.

I had the most amazing time during my month-long stay at JP Boxing Gym! This was also my first time in Thailand, and I could not have asked for a better experience. The sense of community at JP is truly special. Within my first week, I had already met so many amazing people from all over the world and the gym felt like one big family. I made wonderful friendships and memories that I will always cherish. I think what sets JP apart is its location and the people. I loved that it’s located in Phitsanulok, which offers a more authentic training experience in a less tourist-focused setting compared to larger cities like Bangkok. And, as a solo female traveler, I always felt safe. The trainers (New, Art, and Song Kom) are fantastic. They are highly skilled, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about Muay Thai. If you ask questions, they are always eager to share their knowledge and help you improve. They also bring such a great energy to every session, which makes the workouts more fun. As a complete beginner, I was initially a little nervous, but everyone immediately made me feel comfortable and supported. JP truly welcomes all skill levels. I met several people who were complete beginners like me and some who had been training for years. There were also people of all ages (from teens to 60s)! The trainers do an excellent job of adapting to your level and helping you progress at your own pace. The workouts are challenging but you can go at your own pace, and they were very accommodating when I had aches/pains pop up. I also experienced both larger and smaller groups, and felt that everyone received personal attention from the trainers in both. I really liked the structure of the trainings and overall week to week. I loved having a consistent routine while also enough variety to keep things fresh and exciting. Even after a month, every week felt different. Whether it was different conditioning exercises, a different route on the morning run, or a new Sunday excursion. I also really enjoyed the other activities and cultural experiences, from the the pool days, night market, weekend events, and exploring Phitsanulok with the group, to the morning Chinese temple visit (which quickly became one of my favorites because of the delicious vegetarian breakfast and traditional Thai sword fighting lessons). There were great recovery options like sauna, ice bath, and massages. And, I really enjoyed the couple of yoga sessions that I did. The food was another big highlight. It was absolutely delicious. I still miss it! They were also very accommodating of dietary restrictions. I really enjoyed staying on-site at the gym. The room was nice and cleaned regularly. And, it’s so convenient to have everything right there: training, recovery, 7-Eleven and laundry place right next door, and good restaurants and markets if you want to explore during your free time. Another thing that makes JP so special is how much Jay and Ploy genuinely care about every person who comes to the gym. They are deeply invested in creating the best possible experience for everyone. Ploy frequently checked in with everyone and was always available if anyone had any questions, issues, or requests. The best thing you can do is communicate with them. Overall, I left JP feeling stronger, healthier, and happier. It kick-started my health and fitness journey in the best possible way. You truly get out of this experience what you put into it. If you make the effort to connect with the people around you and fully immerse yourself, you will leave with so much more than improved fitness. You will leave with new friendships, unforgettable memories, and a deep appreciation for both Muay Thai and Thai culture. JP Boxing Gym was definitely the highlight of my trip to Thailand. I already miss it so much and hope to come back. I would highly recommend JP Boxing Gym to anyone, regardless of age, experience level, or fitness background.

I spent a week training at JP Boxing Gym, and honestly, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and supportive, which made it easy to settle in right away. One of the standout aspects was the food — it was consistently healthy, fresh, and the portions were huge, which is exactly what you need after intense training sessions. It really helped keep my energy up throughout the week. The trainers were incredible. Every single one of them was kind, patient, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve, no matter their level. They took the time to give individual attention, answer questions, and break things down in a way that made learning both effective and enjoyable. I feel like I learned so much in such a short time, all thanks to their guidance and encouragement. I genuinely have no complaints about my experience. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this gym does. I already miss training at JP so much — the energy and support made a huge impact on my time there. I can’t wait to come back❤️❤️

We had an amazing time at JP!! Me and my mum were well looked after from start to finish by Ploy and the team. We are both first timers training in Muay Thai and my mum was apprehensive to start with but the trainers made us feel at ease and made the sessions really fun with a perfect mix of conditioning and combos focusing on technique. We did the group classes only and it was very sociable and supportive environment. The food was delicious and mars was a lovely host. I particularly enjoyed the run sessions and learning traditional martial arts and sword fighting (made from wood) for more variety and had a great Thai massage and yoga session in between classes. We stayed in the bungalows not far from the gym and was kindly picked up and dropped off for classes when we wanted. The pool at a local hotel is very nice and perfect way to recover for a good price, not busy when we went early. Overall a great family environment, will definitely book again! Thank you everyone at JP 🥊❤️

The best training experience I’ve ever had. I went to JPs for one week and the only regret I have is that I didn’t stay longer. I could not recommend this place more highly to anyone thinking about training Muay Thai in Thailand. Both Jay and Ploy were incredibly dedicated to making sure that the experience went as smoothly as possible and went above and beyond for every person in the camp. The training itself was incredible. Song kom, New and Art looked over the majority of training sessions and their attention to detail was brilliant. You can really feel the passion they have for training the gym members and improving technique a little bit day by day. This place is suited for every level from beginner to expert and I can say without question that I would already be planning a trip back to Thailand just to go back to this place for longer. Thanks to the all the guys at JP for an amazing week! Eoin

What an epic experience! I really needed that. An amazing place with the best crew to train with, people from all around the world with a similar goal in mind. Trainers that push you but in the best way, while making you laugh. Food that nourishes you with so much flavour and made with love . Good accomodation options for everyone. I got the Thai cabin which was very cosy but honestly next time il just stay on site because I spent so much time just hanging at the gym with my new family, using sauna, ice bath , doing yoga , or chilling in the hammocks in between trainings… on top of all that also getting to visit some of Thailand’s historic temples, pool days, night markets, river runs, Thai clubs if your up for it, and more! all while Not having to plan everything . Also it’s nice having a more authentic experience out in phitsanulok rather than it being overly westernised…. Perfect for a full reset ! Love JP gym!! Plus there’s dogs ! Only con is I didn’t stay long enough ❤️

Updated March 2026: Back again for 2 weeks (01/03-14/03) and had another fantastic experience! Everyone I met was lovely, wonderful and caring people. The trainers Art New and Song Kom are all amazing and have fantastic energy. They put us through our paces but were also supportive and accommodating of beginners. The classes were small sized so each of us would get to do pad work with at least 2 trainers each session. Jay would also join us sometimes, and training with him was the toughest but most satisfying sessions for me! Ploy is so lovely, always with a smile on her face, she took care of everything in the background making sure things run smoothly. Chef cooked us delicious nutritious meals (big portions!), and I quite enjoyed the protein smoothies too. I also got picked up from Bangkok by Ton, who’s so friendly and helpful. I stayed at the bungalow (Mr Thong’s resort), and the owner Mr Thong is also really kind and helpful. I’m also grateful for the opportunities to get to know other wonderful campers through training together as well as the various activities that JP organised. Leaving was the hardest part, I’m already planning my next trip and can’t wait to be back 😊 —— I was looking to get into Muay Thai as a complete beginner and really could not have asked for a better experience of learning and training. I loved the routine - the twice daily Muay Thai training, having everything catered including meals ready to eat after each session, the massages twice weekly (VIP package) - it all made for the best environment for learning Muay Thai. The team at JP Boxing is full of amazing, lovely people, who were so welcoming and helped me feel comfortable during my stay. The rare times that I ran into a problem, Jay and Poi were quick to respond and helpful. I got even more than I had expected out of training thanks to the awesome trainers and other fighters at the gym. The trainers were excellent, pushing you to give your all while making sure that you were doing so safely. Training with Kru Chan is especially enjoyable, he’s an excellent fighter and teacher but also doesn’t take himself too seriously. His fun, infectious energy made training something to look forward to every time and was complementary to Kru Burneung’s more orthodox style. And of course the rest of team completed the experience. Kay the cook took special care that we were well fed and happy with the food. During my trip Braedan would drive us to where we needed to go and also train with us sometimes, always reliable and approachable, not to mention his awesome work ethics and fighting potential (watching the guy train is nothing short of awe-inspiring). All in all, the Muay Thai training was perfect, and everything else was also nice. My only feedback would would be that the communication and organisation around outdoor excursions could be better and more streamlined - for those trips to temples or Bangkok etc I’d have appreciated being given some agendas and background information beforehand, such as what the trip’s planned activities include, some outline of the timeframe, and maybe some advice on what to bring/wear for specific occasions. If these things could be uniformly communicated to the participants (e.g. through the WhatsApp group chat) at least the day before a trip, I felt that it would substantially improve the experience and make things easier for everyone involved. But regardless of small drawbacks, I really enjoyed my time at JP boxing and cannot wait to return for more Muay Thai as soon as possible! :-)

I spent a little more than two incredible weeks at JP Boxing Muay Thai Gym, and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life! The team is amazing welcoming, kind, and genuinely passionate about sharing the art of Muay Thai. The atmosphere is authentic, with real Thai trainers teaching real Muay Thai, which made the cultural immersion so rich and meaningful. The training program is fantastic, offering a great balance of challenge and support. I loved that the classes weren’t overcrowded, allowing the trainers to focus on each camper individually. This personal attention made a huge difference in my progress and confidence. As a female solo traveler, I felt completely safe and supported. The gym attracts a global community, so you’ll meet people from all over the world while still experiencing the warmth of Thai culture. The city itself is a perfect mix of calm and vibrancy, there’s always something interesting happening, but it never feels overwhelming. The variety of package options means there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. I can’t recommend JP Boxing Muay Thai Gym enough.

Amazing retreat! I can recommend it for anyone who's interested and can see myself coming back :) For some things the communication could be a bit better. A lot of things aren't really explained and you either just figure it out or have to ask them how it works, like transport or office hours. But it always works out in the end :) The workouts are great and the food is amazing. The coaches are great and very fun people, vibes are good. Their English is generally good enough but not the best, so sometimes things are a bit hard to explain or clarify, especially when you have more specific in depth questions. All in all I had an amazing time, it's very good value for money and I might go back next year. I strongly recommend it! One other point of feedback for the coaches: Take it easier with sparring with new people, ask them what they want or feel comfortable with. And especially before starting the 'free for all', just take a minute with everyone to get on the same page about what to expect and how hard (not) to punch.

I booked a two week training and stay here and I have to say it was one one of the best experiences on my travels. All the trainers pushed me and supported me to overcome limits that I thought I could not and were very understanding and truly empathetic in how they thought. I have gained such a deep respect for the art of muai Thai and even a deeper respect for the five people. It was also really good value for money and the trainers balance the perfect amount of patience with the right amount of push and if I had the time and opportunity I would definitely do this entire program again.

How to describe our week at the JP Boxing Camp... Let's start with the incredible availability and kindness of all the people working at this camp. Personally, it was my first experience with boxing, and I wanted to live a real Muay Thai experience. JP Boxing exceeded my expectations. The different training sessions are challenging but adapted to both beginners and more experienced participants. The camp has a maximum capacity of 15 people, which is great because you can really connect with others and receive individual corrections and advice if you want to progress technically. The trainers are professional, skilled, kind, and patient. They're always available for the two training sessions per day and more if you want a private session. They're always ready to give you a personalized progress update, tailored to your level, with a smile. The training sessions always take place in a positive and motivating atmosphere, which encourages you to give your best! As for the camp’s organization, your room will be very close, which is really convenient for getting some rest. If you need anything, Ploy will always be there to help you. The sauna and ice bath are also fantastic for recovery, and you can use them anytime you want. And a big plus: the food is amazing, always prepared for you to enjoy right after training. The portions are generous and perfectly suited to what you need after an intense session! Lastly, the camp is well-located, near several supermarkets, bars, and restaurants. So, if you want to experience authentic Muay Thai boxing, be treated as well as possible, learn and progress, meet people from all around the world who are motivated by the same goal, and truly connect with them, this is definitely the place to be! We'll be back as soon as possible!

I booked for a month and ended up extending a week because I was just not ready to leave. JP Boxing gym is really one of those places where you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Everyone was so welcoming and warm and you truly feel like a part of the family. If you can, book for more than a week - everyone who came for a shorter time was wishing they had planned for a longer stay! The vibe both during and outside of training session is so supportive and encouraging, and even though I had zero prior experience in any type of combat sport, I never felt awkward or out of place. Jay and Ploy take care of everything wonderfully, and the coaches are just pure gold. Their teaching techniques are varied, effective, and push you just enough. They really are masters at it, and also just a bunch of really wonderful personalities. The food was always really tasty and they cater for varying diets (vegans, don't worry!) and even take into account any special wishes or requests you might have. The yoga classes were a wonderful addition to the schedule and I highly recommend incorporating those as well! It was overall an unforgettable experience, with daily training sessions (although intense, they're suitable for different levels and extremely rewarding), yoga, Sunday group trips, night market, temple runs and sword fighting, fight nights (some of my favorite memories!), and even just the post training hangouts at the camp doing ice baths and sauna. I can't recommend this camp enough. I knew I had signed up for something way out of my comfort zone and was definitely having second thoughts before my arrival, but since day one I knew I was exactly where I wanted to be and enjoyed every second of it.

I have never experienced Muay Thai training before in my life, but being an adventurous active older man at 64 I thought I would try a week for education, personal protection and to tighten up and general fitness. It was an extremely tough physical week for me, but I managed to attend every session and although the first few days were extremely difficult I thoroughly enjoyed my week and walked away educated on Muay Thai, definitely fitter/tighter and stronger. 💪 Songkom, Art and Nui were very motivating and considerate trainers. 🥊🙏 I enjoyed a very comfortable stay in bungalow #7 with plenty of space, good shower, plenty of water in the fridge and good AC. Very nice design and all wooden. Al was a nice helpful guy too. 👍 You have a great team of trainers and kitchen staff that made my stay memorable. The people I trained with we're all good fun from across the world 🌎 and everybody was very friendly and supportive. We sweat a lot, we swore a lot and we laughed a lot. 🥵🤬🤣 Many thanks and best of luck with the new facility. Maybe I'll see you again next year. 🥰🥊🇬🇧🇹🇭 Ploy kindly arranged a taxi to the train station on the day I left too. 🥰

I have been to Phitsanulok JP boxing gym for 2 full weeks. To start with, I would like to definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in physical activities (doesn’t matter your martial arts skills level). It is a great place to disconnect from your daily working routine, and just go to spend some time there training and have a healthy holiday full of sports and good food. If you are into Thai boxing more seriously, it is also a great place to practice your skills, and train at the highest level. Their coaches are all very experienced. Jay is a great person, and has a lot of experience in coaching high level Thai boxing. Alongside Jay, there is Songkom, New and Art, all of them with very strong background and plenty of fights during their career. All coaches work together and trying their best to adapt their session plans based on your needs. They keep their gym and camp more as a family oriented vibe, where everyone is welcomed (not just based on your boxing skills). They also have some great expats who live in Phitsanulok, and sometimes they come and share their Muay Thai knowledge (Shawn is one of them, a great example) From the logistic part, Ploy is always there to help and to make sure that everything goes smoothly with payments, food during the day, training packages that you can choose etc. Ton is the person who will assure your pickup from the airport and back, a wonderful man who is keen to help. He also coaches sometimes, and he has a lot of experience from his fighting career. After your practices are done, you have a lot of authentic Thai things that you can do. My favourite one was to experience the local foods next to the campus, and the fresh smoothies and coffees that the local prepare daily. Jay and the team also organise trips (usually on a Sunday) so if you are interested to go it is a good option to spend your day off. If you choose to chill in the camp, it is also a good choice. The Sauna and Ice bath are there for you. It is by far one of my greatest active holidays. At the beginning I was a bit skeptical about trying Muay Thai as I have very little knowledge about this sport. But now I am happy that I decided to go and I don’t regret it at all. To sum up everything, great overall experience! I miss already our friends that I made in there, and I am looking forward to go again whenever I have the chance! Thank you JP boxing gym for giving me an unforgettable experience! Looking forward to seeing you agin!

If you are looking for an authentic Muay Thai experience in Thailand, JP Boxing in Phitsanulok is a hidden gem. Unlike the massive, overcrowded gyms in the more touristy areas, this camp offers a personal and focused environment that makes a huge difference in your progress. Training & Coaching The coaching staff is top-notch. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced fighter, the instructors take the time to focus on your technique and form. They push you hard, but they do it with a lot of encouragement and humor. I specifically appreciated the mix of traditional Muay Thai and modern conditioning. The Camp Environment The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and have everything you need. The gym has a real "family" atmosphere where everyone supports one another. It’s located in a quieter part of the country, which allows you to fully immerse yourself in the training without the usual distractions of the big cities. Food & Accommodation The Food: The onsite meals are a standout. The meals are fresh, delicious, and perfectly portioned for someone training twice a day. The Rooms: The accommodation is comfortable and provides a great place to recover. Having the ice bath and sauna available was a massive plus for muscle recovery after long sessions. Overall: I came here for the fitness, but I stayed for the community. I left feeling stronger and more confident in my skills. If you want a place where you aren't just a number and can truly improve your Muay Thai, JP Boxing is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back!

JP Boxing Gym has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I came here with no prior experience in Muay Thai, and in just one week I learned so much more than I ever expected. The trainers are super skilled, patient, and genuinely care about helping you improve, no matter your level. I haven’t even left the camp yet, it’s my last day here, and it honestly never disappoints. I wished I planned on staying longer than a week, also the food is really amazing. Every session pushes you and motivates you to be better. What really makes this place special is the vibe. It’s not just a gym, it really feels like a family. Everyone supports each other, from the trainers to the people you train with. The memories I’ve made here will stay with me for life. I couldn’t recommend this place enough

I came to JP Boxing under their one-month VIP Package, and overall it was a great experience that motivated me to continue practicing Muay Thai after starting about 8–9 months ago. The training sessions usually consist of CrossFit-style conditioning, bag work, shadowboxing, partner drills, pad work, and occasional sparring. The sessions are always challenging. Even after a full month, there was always something pushing me physically or mentally. On some days, we also went on runs by the river or to a beautiful Chinese temple. Over the course of the month, I noticed a significant improvement in my stamina, which I hope to maintain when I return home. I really appreciated the unique activities offered, such as traditional sword fighting, Muay Boran, and learning the Wai Kru. Some people come to JP Boxing specifically to train for a fight, and we were invited to attend one, which made the experience feel very complete, as the fighter from our gym won. You get to see the full picture of Muay Thai, from daily training, to culture and history, to watching it all come together in an actual fight. My package also included yoga classes and weekend trips. The yoga instructor is fantastic and knows how to challenge students while still being mindful of their bodies. I felt more prepared for the Muay Thai trainings because of the hour spent stretching and warming up, and I believe it helped reduce the risk of injury. Since this was my first time in Thailand, the weekend trips were a great way to explore the area’s nature and temples. My favorite trip was to Ban Mung, where we watched millions of bats fly out of a cave at sunset, which to me, was an unforgettable experience. One thing I would recommend to anyone planning to come is to spend some time training on your own before arriving. While I personally didn’t experience any serious injuries, I did see some people get hurt enough to miss several days of training or even end their trip early. When I first started Muay Thai, I also got injured frequently, and I can’t imagine dealing with that during a first time camp in Thailand. To maximize both your health and the value of the camp, some prior training experience is very helpful. That said, the coaches are beginner-friendly and supportive at all levels. I came to JP Boxing during a particularly difficult time in my life, and I’m grateful to have had the space to focus on Muay Thai, my physical and mental health, and exploring new places all at once. I also learned some of Jay’s unique meditation styles, which I plan to continue practicing at home. Jay and Ploy were always responsive and helpful, answering any questions I had via WhatsApp. I would recommend JP Boxing to anyone who wants to continue training Muay Thai while also experiencing non-touristy sights and learning about the sport’s history and culture. Everyone comes here for different reasons, but it’s clear that the people training here are all trying to better themselves in some way. Thanks again for having me.

sad ending to what could have been a great trip. poorly managed, certain liberties taken. and the rooms at camp are vile. if you book, only book the most expensive one .. even then 🚩 expect ant infested rooms , bugs and a real lack of care to complaints … its a money grab , not a pro camp

This was my first time in Thailand, and I couldn't have chosen a better place. JP Boxing Gym organizes incredible Muay Thai camps. Anyone looking to spend their vacation actively, take a break from work, or simply try something different should sign up. The training sessions are led by excellent trainers, the meals are delicious, guaranteeing no upset stomachs and showcasing the diverse flavors of Thailand. The organizers' care is truly excellent – participants are located in various locations or directly in accommodations at the gym, but regardless of location, transportation to and from training is organized. There's also the option of a yoga session, which has been a lifesaver after an intense workout. Thai massages offered by JP guarantee truly professional masseurs who are flexible in meeting participants' needs. I've personally had tennis elbow for several months, but after a massage, it's significantly better. I'd never trained Muay Thai before, and after just a few days, I was boxing and kicking the bag (and sparring with my partners) like a pro. 🙂 For more advanced players, there's always the option of sparring with one of the instructors, so everyone can get the most out of it. I highly recommend it – professional training, yoga, trips, meditation sessions , delicious food – a dream way to spend some constructive and slightly different time in sunny Thailand. 🇹🇭☀️

This place is special. Jay and Ployy have created an incredible training environment for everyone! As a solo female traveler I felt incredibly safe and well taken care of. The trainers are so knowledgeable and fun to work with. Food was excellent, rooms were clean and had everything you need, and I was in the best shape for the time I stayed here. My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer!

I had a wonderful experience at JP Boxing. As a female solo traveler too. The trainers, New, Art, Tan and Song Kom, are amazingly skilled and generous with their teaching. I had no prior experience and they really give it their all. There is a lovely family-like atmosphere at the camp too. food is great, and everything is low key and easy. I stayed in the luxury hotel, but next time (I plan to return!) I would stay in the bungalows as you get to have a bit more community feel there. Thank you to Ploi and Jay for creating such a wonderful environment!

We choose JP Muay Thai boxing camp for it’s authentic feel & impressions it made on us, when discovering it online. Planted into an natural & cultural interesting environment, apart from the great muay thai training/classes itself, we were pleasantly surprised by it’s thoughtful organization of activities, pick up shuttles, accommodation, nourishing plans and nice group of people/other participants we met and became friends with! We were very happy to have chosen JP Muay Thai boxing camp and the best decision to kick off the new year - Definitely will come again!

JP boxing a such a family-vibed fitness community. It gathers people from all over the world who may be into ups-killing in Muy Thai. The gym owner Jay and his partner Ploy are warm and hospitable. They were offering lots of care to me. The Christmas party 2025 was a highlight for sure. I like all the trainers Sonkom, Tan, New and Arte. They each brings unique energy toy training. I especially connected with Arte through 1:1 pads and sparring. Arte is so flexible and friendly, he gives off that youthful vibe reminds me of my early adulthood. The swimming pool experience, yoga experience and massage experience let alone are phenomenal. I recommend all solo travelers in 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s to JP boxing gym. There you will find yourself- a fit and clean cut version of yourself Thanks again 😛 I will be back in 2026 for sure Adrianna/Shuaishuai

I joined this Muay Thai training week with no previous experience at all, and it turned out to be an amazing experience. It’s a real boxing gym, so the training is challenging and exhausting, but it is always up to you how much you want to push yourself. Beginners are fully respected and supported. The trainers Songkom, Tan, New and Art teach in a playful and authentic way and adapt easily to your level. They make learning feel natural, and I was surprised by how fast I progressed in such a short time. The yoga sessions were also excellent. They were fun and well balanced making them the perfect complement to the intense Muay Thai training. What really stood out was the friendly, safe and welcoming atmosphere. From day one, I felt comfortable and truly part of the gym family. It’s a very chilled vibe. A special thank you to Ploy, who organized everything perfectly and made the whole experience easy and stress free. Thank you JP family, it was a deeply meaningful experience ❤️❤️❤️

Spent a little over a Month here. I couldn't recommend this place enough. The whole team and owners are so sweet and welcoming. The trainers are very skilled and know how to push you to your limit, but also make you laugh. I lived on site at the gym and was treated as part of the family. The food was also delicious.(I'm a vegetarian that was no issue) Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything during your stay . I spent 2 amazing weeks, thanks to the JP boxing team. As a solo woman, and beginner, I could not have received a better welcoming. The trainers (one of them is a woman) are really attentive, available and friendly. Ployy and Jay are very dedicated. Ployy is always available and helpful. She organized all the yoga sessions and massages for me, which was a nice addition to the muai thai trainings. Each person can go to its own rythm, but I fell I improved, even in just 2 weeks. I stayed in the camp with is very convenient. The rooms are basic but clean and all the staff took great care of me. I really recommend the place and I hope coming back myself. Thanks again to all the team for these 2 great weeks!!

Home of Zens... If you ever want to experience magic in life, do visit Jay and his family at JP Gym . It is so rare that you come across people who operate from the the feeling of love... It was a short trip, but words are not enough to express the experience and vibe of the Gym and the accomodation. You are not training there...they vibe out there... without you knowing you will be in a state of mediation...Feels very gracious to atlast meet a family of friends...for whom even their arrogance comes from their humbleness. Thank you Jay and JP Gym Family

I had no prior boxing/Muy Thai experience and was going to be my first time in Thailand as well. This gym offers more of an authentic experience with also providing a family oriented feel. I had the blessing of connecting with New and Art, the two younger trainers and they made my experience 10x more enjoyable. As far as the training aspect goes, they definitely know WHAT they are doing. Since it is more of an isolated place, it feels like you are being trained more “raw” and the direct training to becoming better. Not just some sort of club where they barely push you and you figure it out on your own. They do their very best to include you so that way you get the most out of the trainings. Accommodation wise, they have an ice bath/sauna that is maintained every other day. The food they provide is very good, especially considering how American I am haha. The room I stayed in was very nice, had good A/C, everything worked in there and also is maintained. Everything is clean and although everyone is sweating in this gym, nobody smelled bad and it is outside so it never smells like a “gym”. All in all, Jay and Ploy and all the cooks and trainers have my love and I will most certainly come back for a longer time. It was so sad leaving and I can confidently say that I have a Thai family that is loving and caring and I hope I provided a sense of positivity there and I hope this review serves other people well. Love you JP Boxing ❤️ 🥊

An Authentic Slice of Real Thailand – JP Boxing Gym I can’t recommend JP Boxing highly enough. From the moment I arrived, the team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and looked after. They were always accommodating and genuinely cared about every student, no matter their level or goals. The training itself was magnificent — intense, technical, and deeply rooted in authentic Muay Thai tradition. The trainers are absolute professionals with hearts of gold, and every session felt like a privilege. What I loved most was how real the whole experience was. JP Boxing sits in a part of Thailand that’s refreshingly untouched by mass tourism — a rare find these days. It’s a true taste of real Thailand and its wonderful people. If you’re serious about training, growth, or simply immersing yourself in the real Muay Thai culture, JP Boxing is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back.I can’t recommend JP Boxing highly enough. Where should I start?? From the moment of arrival, checking in the room and straight jump in to training. Beyond all the exercise and Muay Thai, there's an amazing family feel with Jay & Ploy having a brilliant team behind them, that make this camp run so well. Everyone is so welcoming! From Tan, Song, New and so on...everyone is there to help you fit in and push yourself to the max of your capabilities.. From temple sword training, running up to the temple, going through conditioning training, drills, pads, technique, sparring, etc, you have the full blown experience. You will come out super fit and with some extra skills, that's for sure. I'm 46 years old and I survived the whole week training alongside some youngsters, everyone of all ages and backgrounds are welcome and made feel at home. You have as well Yoga on-site (extra cost). The teacher is amazing, full of knowledge and you will appreciate it very much, specially after hard sessions at Muay Thai. Felt sad in the day I was leaving as I felt part of the family and it felt it was my day-2-day routine now. Look forward to come back, hopefully for much more longer then 1 week. It's super recommended, it's only 45 minutes flight from Bangkok, much better then Bangkok training clubs. Ploy and Jay created an amazing camp, with fabulous people working alongside and a place to rejuvenate/face your fears. It will change who you are forever. khop khun

Me and my boyfriend opted for the VIP package maybe not the most affordable option, but having the extra comfort after a hard day of training made it completely worth it. This was truly a unique experience and something everyone should try for themselves. Not only did it enrich my life, it also brought us closer together as a couple. And let’s not forget the food every meal was delicious and made the whole stay even better. Fists up! I highly recommend this course to anyone and everyone.

I spent two amazing weeks at JP Boxing Gym, and I can truly say it’s much more than just a gym: it’s a real family that welcomes you and gives you a unique, personalized Muay Thai experience. It was my very first Muay Thai experience, and I was so impressed by the patience, kindness, and constant encouragement of the trainers. They are not only extremely skilled but also genuinely caring and motivating. I had the chance to be coached by Song Kom and Tan, two exceptional trainers who helped me progress so much. Their way of teaching is professional, inspiring, and enjoyable. What impressed me most was how well they adapt: whether you’re a complete beginner like me or an advanced fighter, they always find the right approach. Another highlight is the diversity of people here — you train alongside locals as well as people from all around the world. The trainers are world-class, and watching them coach advanced athletes is truly fascinating. Another strong point: the food! It’s delicious, varied, and adapted to everyone’s dietary needs (I’m vegetarian, and everything was thoughtfully prepared for me). Training sometimes takes place at the gym, but also in picturesque and historical places like temples — such a memorable experience. The owners, Jay and Lalin, are simply extraordinary. Their warmth, kindness, and availability make every day at the gym even more enjoyable. Always ready to answer questions, they take the time to help and to organize personalized activities based on each person’s needs. Their presence adds so much heart and creates the unique family atmosphere that makes JP Boxing Gym so special. Finally, the gym is perfectly located, only two minutes’ walk from lively streets filled with restaurants, convenience stores, and ATMs. In short, if you’re looking for more than just training — if you want a human, cultural, and sporting immersion — I wholeheartedly recommend JP Boxing 🙏🥊. Amazing experience! I had initially booked a week for the training camp but immediately decided to extend. The trainings are intense but very informative, working on techniques. All the trainers are amazing people as they are very patient, knowledgeable and extremely friendly :) I recommend taking the Fighter package as the 1on1 session are super helpful to work on your technique, breaking down step by step every movement and really improve overall. This was my first time learning Muay Thai and I have to say that Kru Jay and his team got me hooked on it by sharing the passion they have for this discipline. I also recommend anyone coming to stay on camp to live the full experience, the food is amazingly good and the amenities are just what you need. Finally, Ployy is an amazing host making sure everybody is enjoying their stay and always happy to help! Thank you JP Boxing team and see you next year!

This Muay Thai camp was honestly so amazing. I loved that it wasn’t in a tourist area, because it really gave me a glimpse of real Thai culture. We had two Muay Thai sessions a day, and there was plenty of time in between to relax or explore. The training sessions were intense and so rewarding, and the food was just as incredible. On Sunday—our rest day—there was a fight night at JP’s gym, and this was honestly my highlight. Seeing everyone fight like that was incredible and gave me so much respect for the sport and the people here. Jay, the owner of the gym, has been so kind and welcoming—he really made the experience even better. And Ploy was always there to help us with whatever we needed and made us feel so at home. I truly wished I could’ve stayed longer than a week. Hope to come back in the future!

Spent two weeks training at JP Boxing Gym and I’m leaving with sore muscles, a full heart, and a few bruises that weirdly feel like trophies. The training was intense and varied. Each session pushed me in a different way, both physically and mentally, keeping things challenging and exciting throughout. I enjoyed the usual training but also tried other activities like meditation, yoga, Thai massage, and more, including learning sword fighting, which was an unexpected and memorable twist. And the people? From the owners and coaches to the yoga teacher and other students, the energy was humble, kind, and quietly powerful. No egos, just grit and good vibes all around. Would come back in a heartbeat. Just need to feel my legs again first.

been at JP's gym for about 4 weeks and I can say it has been a wonderful experience for me. The trainers who are very professional and patient with anyone, on every level. The lessons are good fun and intense as you like. As a beginner I've learned a lot over the past four weeks. It helped me becoming as well physically as mentally stronger. Besides the training we had meditation sessions, some trips to temples, markets, etc. So many nice things to do. I got to meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world. If you're looking for personal growth I would always recommend this place. Also the cooks make great food, and last but not least Jay and Ploy have been so good to all of us, very welcoming ,caring ,warm and generous. My son and I stayed at JP’s for a month, and we felt as part of a family during this time. The month went so fast, and was transformative for us both physically and mentally in a really significant way. We felt welcomed by Jay & Ployy, who made sure that anything we needed was sorted out. The food was amazing, and training was challenging but always fun (amazing trainers that knew how to push you, but keep it just within your limits and so much fun!) We met some amazing people during our time, as a group we all cared and encouraged each other, had some great chats, and nights out playing pool or exploring the city. We loved being in phitsanulok and away from the crazy busy tourist areas. We both miss our time at JP’s, but will remember it forever… and already planning on coming back again!!!

JP and Ployy run an incredible gym and immersive Muay Thai experience! My sister and I stayed for two weeks coming by train from Bangkok- they organized a ride for us to the gym, we stayed in a peaceful AC room, and the entire experience was greater than expected. Food was healthy/clean and delicious, excursions were fun and brought us places we never would have otherwise visited, including training traditional Muay Thai on top of the mountain that reigns as the birthplace of the martial art. Every day, training was engaging and challenging (4-5 hrs/day), the trainers are patient and helpful, and they allow you to challenge yourself as much or as little as you please. After two weeks there I feel all around healthier and more energized, heavy training paired with significant recovery via ice bath and sauna allowed for an all around transformative experience for someone who had never tried Muay Thai or routine fitness before. I would love to return to JP’s when his new (more remote) gym location opens. Thank you JP and all of the amazing staff/fighters that made this such a memorable experience :)

JP Boxing is truly a special place — you can tell Muay Thai runs in the blood of everyone at the gym (& the town)! The energy is great, the classes are fun and challenging and welcoming to all, accommodation and food is exactly what you need to be comfortable, get good rest, and stay ready to train. My brother and I were total beginners coming into our 2-week stay, and JP and all the staff was so patient and helpful and truly wanted us to push ourselves and improve. Overall, we feel so much stronger and healthier in a short time! If you want a true, local, immersive Muay Thai experience, come to JP Boxing.

Where do I even begin with this special place?! I joined JP Boxing Gym for two weeks, living in the camp itself, a stone's throw from the mats, and in hindsight, two weeks was not near enough! This gym and the entire JP Family made me feel at home within no time. I trained hard (6 days a week, twice and sometimes 3x a day), recovered harder with the on-site sauna and ice bath, enjoyed the DELICIOUS HEALTHY MEALS served with a loving smile after training, and explored all that Phitsanulok offered. The outings and trips were an added bonus to my stay! Jay and his family are among the most hospitable, kind, and generous people I’ve ever met. They really took care of me and improved my training tenfold. If you’re looking for a Muay Thai gym that invests its time in you, look no further. You won’t regret it. I am incredibly thankful to the JP Family for the fond memories I now cherish so dearly ❤️ I’m already planning my return!

I’ve been for 5weeks of intensive training last July Excellent place for training and for competitors. 💪🏼 Nice yoga place and possibilities for great massages. 🤗 Jay, the owner, is a super trainer and a super guy. We shared beautiful moments between intense trainings, meditation and philosophy of life. His family (all the team) were so kind with us. I unfortunately been sick the 3rd week and they did everything to help me to heal. Jay even propose me to stay one more week for free because if the illness. Great 👍🏼 Not every owner have this empathy and kindness I recommend Jay’s Boxing Gym as a good place of training … and food 😋 Good luck Bro 👊

For Thai girl who love to fight, this place is remarkable authentic Muay Thai training, the coach pay attention to you and give you exclusive knowledge about the real move. I book the 7 day camp package so I’m in the camp the whole time, But you can also do one class pass which cost only few hundred bath. One class is about 2 hours long, if you book package you also get yoga and crossfit class as well. The coach treats you like family, they cook for you twice a day according to your dietary restrictions, food here is Thai home-cook style tastes like my mom and my favorite part is no MSG! I would definitely come back again next year!

After jumping on a few planes here and there, I eventually ended up at At JP Muay Thai retreat in Phistsanulok, Thailand 🇹🇭. As a Mum, it's very hard to leave my girl but I knew I needed this time for myself and I would come back and be a better person and recharge my energy. JP muay Thai took care of the hard stuff cooking our healthy protein meals everyday, accommodation, transport, organised training days, Temple visits to go chill with buddha and be present. We ran up special mountains, ran along rivers, and trained where Kings of Thailand trained there warriors for war. The people you meet at JP are all on their own journeys but you all have that one thing in common so it's never hard to start up a convo and share some laughs, jump in some ice baths and sweat it all out in the ring. Thanks JP Ill be back for Round 2!

I spent one month at JP-Boxing Gym and can only wholeheartedly recommend to do the same. Wether you are an complete beginner, with no martial arts experience whatsoever (as was i), have practiced martial arts in your home country or want to take your fighting skills to the next level: This boxing gym is the place to go. In my month here i have seen all kind of skill level people join the gym, train and improve rapidly under Jays guidance. The whole training staff does an amazing job at pushing you to your limits while keeping the atmosphere positive and entertaining. Next to the training the extra activities in yoga, sauna and ice bath sessions, as well as fun trips and activities together complement the experience. At this camp you really get to dive deep into the lifestyle that is intertwined with Muay Thai fighting on a high level. The heartland of Thailand is very culturally appealing as well which made the time here even more remarkable. I will definitely come back and continue my training as soon as possible.

I booked 1 week package at JP Boxing Gym with Muay Thai 2x/d, Yoga and Thai Massage and absolutely loved it! I had no previous boxing experience and they took great care teaching me the basics before moving on. The trainers are great fun, know how to motivate you and all have years of experience! I learned a lot about the history and values of Muay Thai in JP Boxing. I was accommodated in a nearby resort which was no problem at all as they picked us up for training etc. and the homemade food at the gym is delicious. Phitsanulok is also a cool city, not many tourists and lots of night markets. The Sunday family trip outing with the group was a wonderful way to spend the day off and visit the gorgeous Phitsanulok province. After one week, I decided to extend and stay for a second week to keep enjoying a wonderful time at JP Boxing Gym! Thank you Jay and Family:)

28 year old female solo traveler with no Martial arts experience -amazing experience!! JP boxing gym is an amazing place to spend a few weeks to have fun and get fit. For all ages, experience and fitness levels, you will find people and trainings of your level. The trainings were intense but fun, and you very quickly get the sense that your skills are improving. The meals are very healthy and tasty as well. Also plenty of opportunity to relax and do fun activities with other people on camp, but up to you whether you participate or take some time for yourself Thanks to all the trainers and the amazing people I met there. I will be back next year! One tip: one week is wonderful but more weeks is 100% better. If you’re in doubt, round up!!

We came to JP boxing from BKK for a long weekend. We really enjoyed our stay. Ploy, Jay and the trainers are great and very welcoming. The training was great, offering more than just pad work and fitness, and actually helping us focus on technique and clinching (in my experience this can be hard to find). We have been training for a few years and they adapted the class to our level. Keeping it interesting and challenging. If you are in Thailand looking for a Muay Thai camp, away from the busy islands, I highly recommend.

I have stayed at JP Boxing before, last time staying for 3 months solo; this time I have come with a friend, and it is like a second home to me. What a great experience! Jay, Ploy and the rest of the JP family made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. During the Muay Thai training there was a lot of personal attention from multiple skilled trainers, resulting in much progress in less than two weeks. All the essentials were there: great food, very good accomodation, amazing yoga classes, and inspiring trips that showed me Thailand through the eyes of the people from Phitsanulok. The gym is a wonderful melting pot of all kinds of people - Thai and internationals. Wouldn’t have want to miss this experience for the world. Definitely coming back!

JP Boxing Gym has been my home for the past two weeks. What an experience out to remember. The VIP pack comprehended 2x Muay Thai classes per day combined with a schedule of yoga 4 times a week, meditation, thai massages twice a week, saunas and ice baths when needed. The accommodation and food were also included, rooms are complete of everything that is essential, nice and clean. After staying some days at a lodge nearby (20’ walking), I asked to be moved on the camp (so much easier to take showers and get changed between the classes). Jay and Ployy helped in everything and Ployy was always ready to assist. They became family for two weeks. The food is very good but be prepared to eat healthy and as proteins and rice on a daily basis! That’s what serious trainers do! Discipline is what you learn the most here and it was just what I needed. Muay Thai classes are great, trainer Ern was very good, funny and patient. Also Four, New and the rest of thai guys are super nice and an example of hard training body and mind workers. Yoga classes are middle upper level, sometimes quite challenging for me :) On Saturday or Sunday we had family trip day, trips are super nice and off the beaten path beauties of Thailand. Definitely the best part of the trip was building a sense of family with the other guys on the camp and the people of the gym. I think I have a family in Thailand now :)

Well.. what can I say. This unbelievable experience will be one I remember forever. JP and the family welcomed me with open arms. 3 weeks of immersive Thai cultural activities, 2 Muay Thai training sessions 6 days a week, yoga, massages, meditation, temple tours, saunas and ice baths... It is a holistic wellness experience where you will learn about yourself, the foundations of Muay Thai whilst training at places like the Kings Palace, and meet some incredible people along the way. Highly recommend to everyone ❤️

What an amazing time! I was originally meant to be staying for one week, but ended up extending my stay an extra few days because I loved it so much. I wish I could have stayed even longer. I splashed out and chose the premier VIP package, and the hotel l stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. Jay, Ploy, and New were so welcoming and kind. They took us around local markets, local bars, and to a festival that was on at the time. They really went out of their way to look after us and show us around. Jay was also super informative about the local area, and the history of the area. The actual gym is incredible. I had never done Muay Thai before, but I absolutely loved it. We trained twice a day, and sometimes did yoga or workouts in between. Cream is a great trainer and I learnt a lot from her. The rest of the team at JP are great too. The locals that train at the gym are also super friendly and helpful. It was also so nice to get into the ice bath after training! Phitsanulok isn't a very touristy area, but that's what makes this place so great. If you want an authentic Thai experience, then I can't recommend this place more!

Went to the gym for 3 weeks on the fighter package and it was great on all fronts. Easy enough to get to, just got a bus from Bangkok and Jay and Ploy picked me up. The accommodation on site is simple but very comfortable and has everything you need, so I chose it over the option of the more luxxy new rooms a little walk away, it was fun being on the gym site 24/7 The food is amazing, before I went I thought two meals a day wouldn't be enough and I'd be getting my own lunches, but they are biiig portions, delicious and plenty of protein and vitamins. Training is excellent, all the coaches are very accomplished and can tailor the training to all levels of fitness and skill. If you want them to push you more / less or work on a particular technique, or work around an injury etc, just ask. Personally I know my technique and fitness both improved hugely during my time here. Definitely the biggest thing that made this place stand out was the sense of community... Jay, Ploy and all the coaches and fighters really treat you like family while you're there. As well as everything in the fighter package, some highlights were going along to Bangkok to watch one of the team fighting in Lumpinee for a One promotion that happened to be going on (front row seats), eating awesome BBQ, occasional beers by the icebath after hard training, learning some Thai cooking, days out to local sights, and sauna nights at the temple. If there ever is a concern then Jay and Ploy will be all over it as they are very caring people. This is more than just a business to them and it shows. So all in all, three weeks was not long enough and I already can't wait to go back.

Even though I hadn't done any Muay Thai before, I had the best time at Jay's gym. Jay and his team were so welcoming. The trainers were great, and you get lots of individual attention which means you can work on your technique. There is a real mix of abilities—from total beginner (me) to professional Muay Thai fighter. Accommodation is good and the food is really excellent. There was also more to do in Phitsanalok than I had expected—a huge pool nearby, loads of little day trips to go on, etc. It's an opportunity to spend some time in a non-touristy Thai city, surrounded by beautiful countryside. I took the train from Bangkok and Jay organised a pick-up from the train station - super easy! This is a great place to come if you want to learn Muay Thai, improve your existing Muai Thai skills or just work on your fitness!

Very nice camp and authentic one located in the countryside of Thailand, away from tourists areas. The owner Jay is very friendly and listen to you and your goals. The whole team is dedicated and nice. 😃 This camp is beginner friendly and perfect place to begin a Muay Thai journey. The plus is all the activities organized by the team during extra time like going to temple or to the mountain etc … For a long stay I would recommend choosing the hotel rooms (with free pick-up each day), there is also yoga classes and massage included or in extra depending on your package. The food was very good and there is vegetarian options 👍🏼 I have met some cool people from all over the world which is also a plus about this camp ! 😁

I recently joined JP Boxing Gym and I must say, it has been an incredible experience from day one! As a beginner stepping into the world of Muay Thai, I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of training provided at this gym. The instructors are experienced, patient, and extremely knowledgeable, making it a great place for first-time fighters like myself to learn and improve. What truly sets JP Boxing Gym apart is the kindness and support of the people there. From fellow members to the staff, everyone is welcoming and encouraging, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere that pushes you to do your best every session. A special shoutout to Jay, who runs the gym with exceptional organization and dedication. His attention to detail and commitment to his students' progress are truly commendable. Thanks to Jay's leadership, every training session is well-planned, structured, and tailored to help each individual reach their full potential. The booking went through smoothly and there I am at Phitsanulok’s gym. The first day was a sightseeing day to Sukhothai Historical Park and there was a organised fight event at night. It was eye-opening for me to see this sport live for the first time. I would highly recommend to visit when there is a monthly fight event. They put me up at a very nice resort 5mins from the gym and the rest of the week is filled with 2 muay thai sessions per day, 4 yogas and 2 massages in that week. Everything was fuss free for me. I will be informed of the pickup time (thank you Ploy for all the pickups) from hotel and the events. The muay thai trainer, Kru Chan makes the training fun. I enjoyed training with him and Cream, the female trainer (ex-fighter). The vibe in the gym is encouraging and fun of all levels of fitness and students come for all over the world and Phitsanulok. The yoga teacher, Muntaa, is very experienced and caters to individuals’ strength and flexibility. The delicious and authentic thai food is cooked by the stepmom every breakfast and dinner after training. Jay’s parents and niece brings me out on the sunday for sightseeing. There was also cultural experience in giving tributes to the monks when the temple doors open at 6am. Overall, I had a very relaxing and enjoyable time having me-time, physical training, and with Jay, his crew and his family. I would definitely look forward to going back again for my next retreat!

Great authentic Thai and Muay Thai Experience! I would recommend this stay to anyone who want to explore Thailand at it’s most authentic side and without any (1-2) other tourists. Great hospitality at JP’s and no matter your level of both Yoga or Muay Thai, you will be met at your own pace. Thanks for the stay Jay, family and friends ❤️ Pictures from the excursio, food at the camp and some yoga ✨ The elephant visit is at a ethically sanctuary🙏🏼 We had the wellness package 🎏

Amazing experience ! It was my first time practicing Muay Thai and Art Martial so it was hard but so good to learn. Coaches are very skilled, patience and pedagogical. The camp is full equipped (gloves, bags, ring…) and the resort was so comfortable (big bed, AC, individual shower). Also, the food was amazing. I took picture of every meal so here are some. I recommend !! Thank you so much to Jay, Chan, Poo and everyone !!

This was one of the best fitness experience of my life. I came for one week and trained twice a day. It was intense and tested my endurance to its full capacity. The coaches are super friendly, but they make you work harder and harder. The environment is super motivating. You get to train with the locals and people from all over the world. Every session involved cardio, mobility work, stretching, core work, shadow boxing with technique fixes, bag work and finally a few super intense one on one rounds with rotating coaches. Each contributes their unique perspective on your weaknesses and opportunities. Evening sessions were more intense than the morning sessions. It was crucial for me to nap in between and have a good night rest. The home made food cooked by Jay's family is amazing and gives you all nutrition your body needs to thrive in this challenge. Local fruits are the best. I ate mangoes, papayas and watermelon every day. There are fruit vendors in walking distance from the gym. They have accommodations ranging in comfort. From basic suits at the gym to luxurious hotel downtown. I stayed at a very simple cabin 20 min walk or 5 min bike ride from the gym. Which is nice as you can have quite peace at your place or bike to the gym with high energy music and vibe. My cabin basic, but it gives you everything you need. AC, private shower, fridge, firm bed (which is nice for the soar body). If you stay at a hotel then you would be dependent on taxi to commute to the gym and back. You can learn a lot here and get in the best shape. I want to come here regularly as this is exactly the kind of all inclusive fitness package I enjoy.

Definately recommend this Muay Thai camp, initially intended to stay for a month. Extended for 2. The training was much better than any camps Iv done in chalong or other areas of Thailand. The food is very tasty and the trainers are great for technique and make the everything fun. I made some friends along the way! Big love to the the JP team 🙏🏼

This place met and exceeded my expectations. It was a last minute decision and I was really not sure what to expect. I didn’t know much about Muay Thai. It was the best decision, and I’m already planning my next trip back! I felt so safe and part of a family immediately. I was there solo, so feeling included and taken care of was so nice. JP was very welcoming, and JP and his parents are the most amazing chefs and I’m so thankful for all the amazing meals. Kristian was such a dependable, knowledgeable and helpful driver/trainer. And Kru Chan brought such a fun and positive energy to every training session. All the trainers were amazing! The excursions and family trips were always an amazing time too. There was literally nothing I didn’t like about this experience. I am always planning my next trip and can’t recommend this enough. Thank you JP and your amazing team! ☺️🙏

Kru Jay is a highly experienced and technical trainer. He broke down each individual aspect of my striking and made small adjustments while adding finer details. He was a student of Samart Payakaroon and teaches the same beautiful style of Muay Thai. The knowledge he shared throughout the session with me was priceless. I thoroughly recommend him to any fighter hoping to improve their Muay Thai.

There is no better gym than JP in Thailand. Here is more than whatever you imagine. At first, now that I wanted to focus on western boxing, I was worried because most thailand gyms focus on muay thai. But it turns out totally wrong. JP can provide professional western boxing training with "handsome" Chan who is a former WBC asia boxing champion and Kristian who is a professional muay thai fighter having Samart techniques. For food they provide, it is perfect to fuel enough carbs and protein. They also provide vegetarian food if you want. All JP family is so kind whenever you come across. One day, when I walked toward my accommodation, one of JP family found me and took me on his motorbike to my accommodation. Plz don't hesitate to go to JP boxing gym.

It was truly amazing getting trained here. For the first time in my life I went to boxing training and had boxing gloves on. And I am so glad I went to JP Boxing. Trainers there were extremely nice and patient answering all my doubts. There were passionate people working on their Muay Thai skills, yet great individual attention was provided. The environment around was also very nice, calm and safe. When is the last time you did something for the first time? If you want to, this is the perfect place to explore Muay Thai.

Training with Jay and his crew at JP Boxing has been one of the best experiences of my life. Located between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok offers a unique taste of the Thai countryside. The town, small and off the beaten path has a wonderful collection of temples and markets to explore. At the gym, the trainers were not only extremely knowledgeable, but also incredibly kind and welcoming. They motivated and pushed me to do far more than I ever imagined was possible, so I was able to quickly improve my fitness and refine my fighting skills. After training, Jay would put on his chef’s hat and spoil us with restaurant quality meals. Using all the freshest ingredients each meal was well balanced and delicious. I hope to make this an annual trip as I was truly transformative. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their fitness, work on their mental health, become more confident or for kick-boxing enthusiasts wanting to go pro. I really can’t thank them enough for the time I was able to spend there.

If you’re in Phitsonulok and want to train Muay Thai go to JP Boxing Gym. This gym has everything you need; good equipment, great trainers and a fun environment. The prices for training are pretty low for the quality of training you receive. My recommendation is to train 1 on 1 with Kru Jay.

Such an amazing experience. It was definitely beyond expectations : from the Muai Thaï training to a more traditional Thai cultural experience. My advice : don’t hesitate and go there for a few weeks. Didn’t know anything about muai thaï but I grew found of it. The teachers are great (and funny) - we were not a lot of people so we got a lot of personal attention. I felt like making progress really quickly. Jay is super helpful with anything you need. Jay’s mom is an incredible cook. (I will miss it so much) The accommodation and the camp are super nice. It actually felt like home only after a few days. I was a bit sad to leave. There is not much to do around the camp but Muai Thaï trainings and Yoga will get you tired enough to lay down the rest of the time (or to go for massage!). You will see and train in some beautiful places around the city (temples, historical sites). Ask for the meditation experience!! It was insane. Thanks again Jay, Chan, and Berneung. Hope to see you guys soon.

I had a great training session at JP Boxing Gym. The workout was intense and tiring, the trainers really pushed my body to its limits. They all spoke English and were very professional. The compound itself is very impressive. There’s a small café and cafeteria where they serve food and drinks and it’s a great area to just chill after a work out. They offer accommodation for people wishing to stay and train for longer periods of time. Rooms have king size beds, a bathroom and AC, and they serve two meals a day. They also have motorbikes that you can take to go around Phitsanulok. I would personally recommend staying here a couple days if anyone is travelling from Bangkok to Chiangmai and is interested in getting a taste of what Muay Thai is like.

I spent 4 weeks at JP boxing. The experience was amazing. All the trainers were great and supportive to my beginning level to Muay Thai. But they also ensured that I always pushed myself to meet my goals. I weighed 90kg and left at 84.5kg. Something I found so difficult to do back home. The food provided by Jai’s (Owner) mum was well adjusted to my vegetarian diet. There is a lot to see and experience in Phitsanulok and there is a lot of rich culture. JP boxing has a large variety of day trips and activities to fill your time. If you have any different excursions you want to do they are more than happy to accomodate. My experience at JP boxing remains one of the most life changing experiences of my life. I look forward to joining them again for more hard training. Thanks guys!!!

I’ve been living at Jp boxing gym for 3 months now and have loved every second of it. They have made me feel like I have a real home here. The coaches are amazing- push you to your limit and sometimes past it but also know when you are done which has been great for me. Phitsanulok in it’s self is an ideal place to get away from the big cities and has a calming atmosphere to it but there are also many thing to do here. I have learnt a lot about myself whilst being here and highly recommend anyone to come to Jp boxing gym regardless of age or ability and I really mean that because I’m 18 and had never practiced Muay Thai before I came here and now I have a fight in 3 days time! What an experience. I had very limited Muay Thai experience before going to JP. The moment I walked in I was met with the warmest welcome from the Trainers and staff. I stayed on site which was nice and convenient. The food was really good and varied everyday. Jay and the trainers Chan and Berenung as well as Braeden were brilliant, they have a wealth of experience between them and made the training fun but pushed us as well which made it very enjoyable. We also trained by a beautiful lake one morning which was simply glorious. Jay and Poi were great throughout and on hand to arrange yoga and massages after training as well as organizing trips to temples and other events. There aren’t many distractions training at this gym in Phitsanulok but yet plenty to explore locally. I found I got a lot of time with the trainers which is hard to find elsewhere. The perfect balance. Thank you to the JP family and I look forward to returning soon to train here again. The highlight of my trip. I, genuinely, didn’t want to leave.

I came here looking for experience to better my life and I got what I was looking for. The camp is great I have zero complaints about the stay the rooms get cleaned 2 times a week and if you get hot the airco wil solve that problem for you within seconds. The training is great the difficulty depends on how hard you try. The teachers look after you very well and notice immediately if something is wrong but they push you to your limits as well. The food has everything you need including lots of protein that takes good care of your muscles. If you get bored just go out there is lots to see and explore. plenty of great food, events, clubs and bars. The people who work here are just straight up legends and I have met some interesting people who came here as well

Stayed with the JP fam for a month, and have already changed my plans to go back to train more. Everything that you read about the environment being family oriented and a community is so true and beyond expectations. I felt super safe, welcomed, and supported as my first time learning Muay Thai. Each trainer brought their own personality, and energy to the sessions and you were able to rotate and work with each trainer to get different experiences and lessons. I really valued that there was a female trainer to learn from as well. The accommodations are really lovely, and the wifi was great to be able to work while I was there. The food was delicious, you never go without, and having the Sunday experiences were a beautiful way to see more of Thailand. This is a great place to really foster the mind-body connection, challenge yourself, become healthier, and build connections along the way. Would recommend to anyone looking to expand on their skills, or just to meet really down to earth, beautiful, humble, people.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at JP Boxing Gym. Where do I start... first of all, the owner, Jay, is the best guy ever. He was there for me to help me with whatever I needed. When I got an eye infection, he arranged for me to see the best doctor who made my eye infection go away immediately. I stayed in a resort right next to the gym, which Jay had arranged for me, and it was a very nice resort. My favorite part - I didn't have to do my own laundry. I also didn't have to take out my own trash. It was all done for me at the resort. I also had my own private room with my own bathroom. A really local vibe, living at the same resort as other people who train at the gym, so it was team bonding all day and night, I really got to know the people I trained with. I met people from all over the world here: from Europe, North America, other parts of Asia, even from Australia and New Zealand! We would also do things on the weekends as a team, like going to a festival, going to a professional muay thai fight, and going camping in the jungle. I trained with JP Boxing Gym for an entire month, 6 days a week, in the afternoons, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. The trainers are top notch, truly experts in their field, with distinctly different personalities, and they all know how to make training somewhat fun too. Hype music is played during workouts, which adds to the fun and vibe of the experience. I am in great shape after training with JP Boxing Gym, and I am confident that I can defend myself and those I care about, now that I have trained muay thai with them. I intend to come back to JP Boxing Gym again and again, for many years to come. I see it as a new home for me to come back to for the rest of my life. The food served there is also amazing, delicious, traditional thai cuisine, and different dishes are served every day, made with love. The people at JP Boxing Gym treated me like family, and they are my family now. No wonder why they call it "JP Boxing Family." JP Boxing Family for life! If you're considering training here or training muay thai in Thailand, don't wait, dont hesitate, grab your spot now to live and train here! I'm telling you, you're going to have the best experience of your life!

However, there is a reason why I’ve decided to spend all of my days in Thailand at this one gym and not go gym hopping. First of all, the training is absolutely the best I’ve ever received. Training with world championship trainers who really take you in as their disciples is an absolute honour. This gym is set apart from other commercial gyms because often, other gyms/trainers are only in it for the money but I don’t feel any sort of money scheming atmosphere but just pure and genuine intent of wanting to shape your skills better and motivating you. The atmosphere at the gym is absolutely amazing. The trainers are constantly encouraging and motivating you so you find yourself pushing yourself to your limit without even trying. The training sessions are designed for fighters to beginners. Whether you’ve come to become/stay fit/lose a few pounds to training to be a fighter/to fight, I can honestly say it is the perfect gym for anyone. The family oriented environment is really warming and everyone seems to have a good laugh with each other, get along very well and fit in almost immediately because of the accepting atmosphere. The staff goes to great measures to make sure you’re comfortable and are happy with everything. The owner of the gym, Jay is honestly a top bloke. Maybe it’s because I’m used to so many gym owners being so money hungry but he has nothing but genuine passion to provide the best Muay Thai experience for people who come to the camp. He was a student under the great Samart Payakaroon himself and is excellent at this sport. Honestly his private lessons have taught me more than what I’ve learnt so far. If you’re reading this. Don’t hesitate, come to this gym and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Amazing culture, training, food and people! Away from all the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities, Phitsanulok and particularly JP Boxing brings an eye opening experience to simple, healthy living. Especially to a westerner like myself. Never a dull moment with the JP Family 10/10 would come back every time 👌🙏

Brilliant place to train and learn Muay Thai. Jay & his team are all so helpful and really fun to train with. There is a community feel at JPs and when you arrive and settle in you won’t want to leave. It’s also not overcrowded so you get really good personal attention as you’re learning. Phitsanulok is also a small charming town and it makes for a very peaceful, rewarding experience. Book in to JPs before it becomes less of a hidden gem.

I had planned to stay only a week but enjoyed training at this gym so much i stayed a week more! All the coaches here are multi-time champions and have a ton of experience under their belts. They will structure your training depending on your skill level. You can do group classes or choose private. I opted for private classes. What i love is that they have you warm up really well with various stretches and drills before you get training and also warm down with stretching as well. Training: shadowboxing drills, pad drills, bag drills, and sparring! The bread and butter is Muay Thai, but i was in luck as there’s a Western Boxing teacher there as well who was a champion! There’s a weight lifting section along with cardio machines, tire hammers, and battle ropes. The coaches: They can relate to the fighters well, they don’t over-preach, and they do a ton of motivating! The Property: They have accommodations on sight and also a kitchen where they will make you some delicious food. There’s also a Seven Eleven within a minute walk away, and a Yoga studio next door! The people: All of the coaches are down to earth and friendly. The reason why i stayed longer is because of how welcoming the atmosphere is. They all want to see you succeed. In just a week i felt part of the family and didn’t want to leave. All of the people training there came from different backgrounds. All of them were amazing and super humble. I can’t wait to go back. I’m already looking at plane tickets. Thank you for everything! See you again soon!

Experience world class training from Muay Thai champions! The gym offers 6+ hrs of Muay Thai classes everyday as well as yoga classes. The food & accommodation is fantastic plus there are fun day trips with the whole team most days. I would highly recommend!

Amazing gym, training and people. Everything is consistent with what you see in older reviews regarding the family environment where J and his family take you in as their own. The coaches are passionate and very experienced, such as Berneung, the WPMF champion, and of course J who has trained directly under Muay Thai legend Samart Payakaroon. The training is a good mix up between old school bag work/pad work, Crossfit and also technical drills. There are also many trips to the local temple's and other attractions where training is also sometimes done depending on the day.

JP Boxing became my new home during my time here. This gym is a hidden gem with top quality trainers and a beautiful gym setting. My goal at JP's was to compete in Muay Thai and Kru Jay is the best man to help you get a fight at your skill level, there are horror stories of shady promoters but Jay is definitely not one of them. I felt at home since Day 1, and I will certainly be back Thank you Jay!

JP Boxing Gym is Number 1 Muay Thai Gym in Thailand, with the best family & team in the world. There are many tourist gyms but they don’t teach you all the best technique, Muay Thai history, the passion or truth about Thailand & Muay Thai. I’ve been many times & will train with Kru Jay again in Phitsanulok in September, and next year in London 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I came into JP Boxing Gym for one day session and had a great experience. The sessions involved running, sparring and good hard pad rounds. The owner Kru Jay speaks fluent English and is one of the students of the great Samart Payakaroon. He is also very attentive with technique which can be rare with trainers. The gym is extremely accommodating - they even picked me up from the bus terminal past midnight on arrival and took me to my hotel. If you want to learn Muay Thai with quality instruction somewhere different then JP Boxing in Phitsanoluk is a great choice.

We had a wonderful trip! Our stay only lasted a couple of days but within these few days the owners made us feel welcomed and included in the JP Boxing family immediately. Everyone was extremely nice and took very good care of us. (We even got a free massage!) Except from the people we also liked the training as well as our trips to some temples and the night market in Phitsanulok a lot. We really recommend trying out this boxing camp (doesn’t matter if you’ve never boxed before) and would love to come back if we have the chance!!

Originally I came to JP Boxing for 10 days just to get a bit fitter and learn some Muay Thai but I ended up extending twice. I really liked everyone at the gym and the training was excellent. It was hard work but worth it and I’m now a lot fitter than when I started. The food was super tasty, and every now and then they would take me out to the local sites like the temple, museum, night market, restaurants on the river, and for the occasional Thai massage which I’m sure helps with recovery after a hard days training. I would definitely recommend it as it was a great experience for me. Thanks to everyone at the gym.

I will just go ahead and say this - if you have a chance to train at JP gym, don't miss it! I and my girlfriend spent 1 week at JP gym, we had the VIP package, which included training living and exploring the area. First of all, as cheesy as it may sound, you really get a feeling of being a part of a big family. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Even though we were the only foreigners at the time, everybody talked to us in English, invited us for dinner, drinks and just created a very welcoming environment, which was important considering that we had 0 muay Thai training experience and were about scared to go to this experience. Starting with the training - it can be very challenging, but only if you are up for it. As I mentioned before, we came with no previous experience of martial arts, but from the very first training, we got fully included in learning the technique as well as conditioning. The trainers were supportive and providing loads of personal attention and guidance to every single student. Yoga was also great. Even though I am really not good at it, the teacher adapted some of the difficult poses to my level. It is an amazing way to stretch and align with the body after the hard muay Thai session. Aaand it can also be quite challenging too if you are still up for that. Living conditions - we lived literally next to the training ground, in recently build rooms. Each room is quite simple, has a small fridge, separate shower, and a bed. Nothing to distract you from training and resting after it 🙂 Finally, the hospitality. In one week's time, we had more than a couple of to hang out at dinners (and some drinks) together with Jay, Poi, Nat, and others. It was not included in the “package description”, but we were always invited. As mentioned before, everyone walked an extra mile for us to feel a part of the gang, which was amazing. What a chance to meet great people and get the experience of how locals live. Poi took us around to so many places, beautiful temples, mountains, and even to the local festival. To sum up, regardless if your goal might be training muay Thai, getting into shape, meet new people, or just clear your head in a different environment, I can only recommend it. Amazing value for your time and money.

I had a great time there. Nothing better than getting away from it all & learning some Muay Thai techniques on the end of the year. I had so much chance to experience the Thai culture as well. Needless to say, the food was always amazing. Jay and his wife (Poy) treated me like a member of their family. I was so happy that I decided to join JP Boxing family. I'm gonna come back some day.

I had a fantastic time training muay thai at JP Boxing Gym. The trainers are brilliant, especially owner Kru Jay takes a lot of time and devotion into correcting technique. I learned a lot from him. The gym also offers excursions to nearby temples and sights, which were a lot of fun. Kru Jay and his lovely wife Poi made me feel at home, they are funny and caring and made my stay in Phitsanulok a great experience.

More than a gym, it's a family! JP Boxing is run by the most passionate people, Kru.Jay and Poi (and Ari, their little monkey of a daughter) who dedicate their life to training Muay Thai and sharing their culture and beautiful part of Thailand. I had never been to a Muay Thai camp before, and had never heard of Phitsanulok, and I had the best time! 2 training sessions each daY - challenging, fun and educational, my muay thai has improved so much - rest day spent at amazing temples, drinking beers by the river, checking out limestone caves and the countryside. You've got plenty of free time to relax and enjoy yourself (if you're not dying from the morning training), whether it's relaxing by the pool, reading, checking out the local shops and cafes, yoga or massages. Kru.Jay and Poi take such good care of everyone. I was there over Christmas and absolutely loved it. Cannot wait to come back at the end of the year for Christmas 2020!

I have never done anything like this in my life, and this is my best experience ever. The JP family made me feel like home, they took such good care of me, tought me about Muay Thai and showed me around with culture, history and spirit. Every single one was so lovely and we had so much fun. The trainings are very professional and also you can always get one on one with the trainers, not big class with big group of people like Phuket or anywhere.

What a fantastic week! When I first booked this trip I wasnt too sure what to expect. I have never done any Muay Thai boxing, mediation or yoga in my life so I was a little nervous. Day 1 When I arrived I met Frank & P at the airport and they where super friendly and welcoming. When we arrived at JP Boxing gym, I met Jay (the owner) his wonderful wife and there beautiful child. As I was a little tired from the trip I went straight to hotel to sleep for a few hours. The hotel was very nice and clean with very friendly staff. Day 2 The next morning we went for a run and then some pad work by the river, Jay is very competent and professional coach and was aware that this was my first time boxing training and adjusted the workout accordingly. After our workout we went to the local market to explore and had breakfast with the locals. After a a few hours down time we where back in the gym for the afternoon sessions again the coaches and locals were all very welcoming and friendly and offered very good tips with the training. Day 3 consisted of some early morning one on one training with the Frank & P followed by a personal tour around the local temple ruins where I found celebrity status whilst chatting to a group of very lovely local school children who wanted to ask me lots of questions, which was really nice. A few hours down time and then back to pads and training for the afternoon followed by some amazing food to finish. Day 4 We set off early to a Buddhist monastery situated about an hour outside of Phitsanulok, nestled in the middle of jungle and surrounded by stunning rock formations and breathtaking scenery. We had the pleasure to speak to the monks who offered some very wise advise. That evening we stayed in the sacred caves where we had some time to mediated, this was such an amazing experience and I honestly felt so enlightened after the evening. Day 5 The next morning we walked the local village with monks to collect food and to give blessings, this was done all bare foot which was a bit of a new experience for me, but a good one. We then returned back to the monestary and was kindly invited to eat breakfast with the monks and witness there daily blessings. In the afternoon we where back in the gym for some more boxing training followed by another amazing meal. Day 6 After another pretty intense crossfit training session down by a beautiful lake while watching the sunrise we had breakfast at a local authentic thai restaurant. In the afternoon we had the pleasure of some one on one yoga lessons, I am not the most flexible person ever but our instructor assisted in every way possible. That evening we were treated a beautiful meal by the river followed by what felt like VIP treatment at a local bar where I drank way too much rum! It was a very good night and we met some amazing people. Day 7 As this was my last day and I was suffering with a bit of a hangover I spent the morning relaxing. In the afternoon I had more amazing thai food said my goodbyes and was taken to the local airport. I cannot reccomend this trip enough! For those who feel it might be a bit to much fitness, there is absolutely no pressure from Jay or any of the staff, you go at your own pace and will be helped all the way along. The trip was a lot better than I ever expected and it really helped me clear my head and get myself back to a good place in my life. I enjoyed this trip that much that I am returning in the next few weeks to spend 2 months training with Jay and the team. Thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening trip. I honestly feel I have found friendships for life with everyone I met here.

JP Boxing Gym was my first experience at a Muay Thai gym, to sum it up my time there has been the most memorable and eye opening experiences I've had. I did not know what I was getting into, but I know that I came out of that gym a different person with a newfound love for Muay Thai. During the 3 day 5 session intensive with Kru Jay, in which he gave his all into teaching the and drilling in basics from footwork, the effective use of all eight limbs , clinching, and Ram Muay, teaching about Muay Thais' traditional history as well as the gyms heritage; Kru Jay and every one at the gym had instilled in me a sense of pride for my nation's national sport as well as a newfound passion for Muay Thai. If I get the chance to return to Thailand again, JP Boxing Gym will be the first place I will go back to.

JP Boxing Gym is amazing, A real taste of Thai Culture and traditional Muay Thai Training. The trainers are very experienced but they are brilliant for beginners too. JP and his family will look after you so well you feel like you are part of the family, there's loads to see and do too, organised trips to some very special places where the views are stunning. I got to meditate with monks! That was a real eye opener for me and changed my life. I highly recommend JPs for anyone looking to get away from their busy and stressful lives, those looking to get in the best shape of their lives, wanting a new experience that's different to the rest, this is the place to go.
